Jr. GORFTY – Grades 7&8

Welcome to Jr. GORFTY! 7th and 8th graders are in for a super awesome experience! What is a “GORFTY”? GORFTY stands for Greater Orlando Reform Federation Temple Youth. That is what it stands for, but what does it REALLY stand for? It’s a group, it’s a place, it’s an experience. It brings together Jewish 7th and 8th graders and VERY COOL youth advisors for innovative, diverse and FUN programs!

Jr. GORFTY meets as a part of YALE on Monday nights and sporadically through out the month. Programs include Mystery Bus Rides, Kickball H20, Bubble Soccer, Limo Scavenger Hunts, Shabbaton Overnights, Broomball Showdown, Board Games Brought to Life and MUCH MORE! Jr. GORFTY also participates in one NFTY-STR Kallah per year!

Jr. GORFTY’s wide range of programs and events gives everyone an opportunity to participate on the days that work for them! Jr. GORFTY is organized and staffed by Lauren Oback, Director of Programming and Youth Engagement and Blaine Smith, Youth Advisor. Jr. GORFTY is a great opportunity for meeting new friends and connecting on a whole other level with old friends. Your Jewish Journey does not end at Bar/Bat Mitzvah, it is only the beginning! We hope you will come see what Jr. GORFTY is all about! You will not regret it!

GORFTY – Grades 9-12

WHAT IS A GORFTY?!?! GORFTY stands for Greater Orlando Reform Federation Temple Youth, but for the Jewish teens in our community, it’s a whole lot more! Imagine a place you feel totally comfortable, wanted, accepted. A place that offers really cool programs connecting fun, social action, leadership, community and Judaism. It’s hard to imagine a place like this that could possibly exist!  Give GORFTY a try and you will be mind blown! GORFTY is being “RE-LAUNCHED” this year, so if you have never come to a program or if you have been to a few—TRY IT! You will not be disappointed!
