Musical Pathways to Explore in our Congregation
With our voices joined together we can soar to heights unreachable alone. Here are some ways to become involved in musical programs at the temple…
Kol Tikvah (Voice of Hope) Junior & Youth Choir
Kol Tikvah is the young voice of our congregation comprised of students from K- 6th grade. We meet during religious school and occasionally after school in preparation for special services and events. Kol Tikvah sings during the High Holy Days, Shabbat services, and participates in events in the greater community.
Teen Ensemble - Shir Joy
Our acclaimed Teen Ensemble at CRJ is a select group of Post B'nai Mitzvah students from 8th-12th grade. Teen Ensemble members help lead Shabbat and High Holy Day Family service and perform throughout the greater Orlando area at community events.
This group of adult musicians is more than a synagogue band! They help enrich our worship experience through regular participation at Shabbat and festival services throughout the year. Congregational musicians with good sight reading and improvisational skills are encouraged to participate. Rehearsals are held once a month throughout the year.
The Temple Choir
Our congregational volunteer choir is open to adults of all ages, including post B’nai Mitzvah students. It is a group of dedicated singers who provide high quality Jewish music in a variety of settings. The Choir strives to connect us to God, our heritage and K’Lal Yisrael. New members must participate in the Shabbat choir prior to singing during the High Holy Days. The ability to read music is helpful, but not essential. The choir meets on Thursday evenings and participates every month during Shabbat Shirah.
