CRJ’s DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!  - Save the Date Now!  Sat, April 17th! Celebrate our 60th Anniversary, our DIAMOND anniversary! 

Tot Shabbat & Matzo Ball Soup/Salad Bar Night returns to CRJ Fri, Feb 5th.  Tot Shabbat -5:30 pm, dinner-6 pm.  Shabbat Family Service follows. Special thanks to our Corporate Sponsor Hard Rock Café. Maintain Your Brain Event - Feb 6th we are going to have a tour of Eatonville that will begin at
9 am at the Zora Neal Hurston Fine Arts Museum, 227 East Kennedy Boulevard.  Interested persons should bring a $3 donation for the museum and after our tour, lunch will be at Lowe’s restaurant for some good ethnic food.  Please RSVP to Debbie, dgold@crjorlando.org before Friday, Feb. 5th at noon. New PRE-SCHOOL FORMING at CRJ - starting in August, 2010! The CRJ Early Childhood Center announces an Open House/Registration on Sun, Feb 7th from 10 am - Noon. Learn about the new school & its mission to provide an integrated general & Judaic program for our children focusing on their spiritual as well as physical, social, emotional & cognitive development.  For further info, Rivka Selsky at 407-647-7806 avielijahsmom@gmail.com .

The Social Action Comm is working with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central FL. On the 3rd Monday of every month we prepare a wonderful meal for the residents. We need a driver to become part of this project to pick up the prepared meal at CRJ and deliver to the Coalition. Please contact Karen Knudsen at kjknudsen@earthlink.net

Leadership Development Workshops - An exciting series of Workshops are planned with the first session to be held on February 3rd, 2010 at 6:30 PM. Nominations for the 2010-2011 Board of Trustees Slate of Officers are Open - There will be several interview sessions held next month for those Temple members in good standing who are interested in being considered for one of the several open positions on next year’s slate of officers. Our first interviews will be held on Sunday, February 7th at 10 AM and we also have additional interview sessions planned for Wed, Feb 17th at 7 PM and Sunday February 21st, at 10 AM. Great Latke Hamantaschen Debate - the 6th annual debate-Weds, Feb 24th at 11:30 am.  An ancient question with a modern twist... WHICH is better?  Fiona Dimond, representing the latke and Judith Brand, representing the hamantaschen. CRJ’s 1st Annual Adult Purim Shpiel - For the Adults!  “Nu - it’s raucous, Oy - it’s rasping, Vei is mir - it’s risqué!” - Must be 21 or over Sat, Feb 27th. This Year’s Production BRUSH UP YOUR YIDDISH a raunchy little romp featuring the songs of stage & screen. Written by Arielle Benjamin-Kaplan. Directed by Iva Biggin-Berger, featuring the CRJ Primed for Purim Players.

Social Action Committee - Mitzvah Day - Sun, March 7th  9 am - 2 pm. Pre registration begins Feb. 7th. Check in 9 am.  We are commanded to do Mitzvot every day.  This day is dedicated to bringing the congregation together, spending time volunteering working on programs for social justice, our community and Israel.  A variety of projects to choose from.  Steinmetz Family School of Chai will be participating. Steven Luxenberg, a Washington Post senior editor and author of “Annie's Ghosts - A Journey Into a Family Secret" will be speaking at CRJ on Weds, March 17th

April 2nd - Southwest Orlando Shabbat Service - 7 pm.  A spirited Shabbat Simcha service that will include liturgy, music and singing appropriate for both children and adults and will reflect the joyful and vibrant energy that is Shabbat. Please join us in Southwest Orlando as there will be no service at the main CRJ synagogue that evening.

Holocaust Shabbat - April 9th - 8 pm. Greg Dawson speaking about his book,“Hiding in the Spotlight” is the story of his mother’s courageous escape from the Holocaust.

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group - 2nd Thurs of every month from 1 - 2 pm in the Mini.  Are you caring for someone who has Alzheimer's or a related disorder? Know that you are not alone! 

Care Team - Do you need a ride to the doctor or grocery store, to a CRJ service or event? Do you need meals delivered to your home?  If so, contact the CRJ Office, speak with Arlene or Annie: 407-645-0444. No fee for these services.  We need volunteers to provide transportation.
